Children’s wear company Reima is strongly aiming in the international markets in the near future. According to Finnish economic newspaper Kauppalehti, Reima will especially aim in the Russian markets, where the company already has functions with local players and Stockmann department store. The company has also started sales co-operation in the USA and Canada. Plans for the Czech Republic and Austria have also been made.
Reima had a turnover of 36.8 million euros in 2007. More than half of this came from domestic market. The turnover grew altogether by five million euros compared to the previous year.
“I believe that our turnover will rise up to 42 million euros this year and to more than 50 million the next year”, says Christopher Silcowitz, the Danish CEO of Reima at Kauppalehti.
In addition to Reima, the best-known of the company’s labels are Lassie and Tutta. Reima’s unit Clothing Plus concentrates on product development of materials. Reima employs 100 people in Finland and 280 outside Finland.
