Fashion designer Svetlana Farafonova launched her new women’s wear collection, Jolier, at gallery Forum Box in Helsinki on 14 March 2008. She continues the lines of her previous collection SF-Svetlana Farafonova in her new collection, but also adds a hint of more experimental elements to the garments.

Industrial, white gallery space was a background of the launch of Farafonova’s collection, which pays tribute to Finnish post-modern fashion design. Clear lines, slimming cuts and rustic materials create a clear and complete whole with Farafonova’s playful details and repeated themes, forms and materials.

“Jolier is a slender women’s wear collection with clothes that can be used every day. Stylish and practical women’s garment doesn’t have to very eccentric nor, on the other hand, frumpish” says Sveta Farafonova.

The designer was born in St. Viborg, Russia, in 1979. She has studied fashion design in Finland and in Italy, and completed her MA studies at the University of Art and Design Helsinki in 2005. Farafonova is aiming in going to the Russian market with her collection – she was also the first Finnish new-generation designer to present her previous collection, established in 2005, at CPM in Moscow.
