I have recently arrived in Finland and I am looking for an opportunity to further develop my design skills within the fashion industry. I graduated from the Melbourne School of Fashion after three years full time study for an Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and Business.
I am very passionate about designing and it’s a dream of mine to have my own label one day. I am inspired greatly by Finland, it would be such a great opportunity and experience to work at here. If anyone knows of any jobs available it would be a huge help!

Dude or lady or whatever.
I would recommend you to try Marimekko. They're going through some major changes right now, so my advice to you is to contact them. And try to contact "as high as possible". :D

you can't get too far with an advanced Diploma which is generally considered lower than Bachelor's degree. If you want a job in Finland which is very (bit too) education orientated country; You need to educate yourself more, unless you're extremely talented. But then you would have a job already. Apply for a bachelor degree next January. Continue, preferably, for Masters.

Meanwhile you could perhaps do couple of work placements to network and have a taster of the (very small) industry in Finland.
Be active, extremely hard working and HUMBLE.

I don't know if studying fashion in Finland can be seen as an opportunity! Finland is not really on the world stage in this field... Aalto is Finland's biggest export... he is not in fashion... For fashion it's Marimekko which seem to employ designers from abroad.
To add... a BA Degree is worth jack if you are not talented... any retard can get a BA Degree these days.

I left Melbourne for a new experience, to get inspired and to do some traveling. It's been 5 years since I've been on a long adventure. Finland is the mother land so I wanted to go back to my roots. There are so many up and coming talented fashion designer in Australia, it made me curious about the designers in Finland. Finland has the most designers per capita than any other country so Finland is definitely the place to be inspired! Even if I can't get work in fashion here I'll have enough inspiration to keep me going.
